Fall Trip to Nami Island with Kids! Marshmallow Campfire & Healing Stay at Jeonggwanru
This recent fall trip to Nami Island was so satisfying that I felt compelled to write a review right away. This island, just an hour and a half from Seoul, felt like an entirely different world. 🍁

Falling for the Charm of Autumn on Nami Island
As soon as I entered Nami Island, I thought, “Ah, this is why people recommend coming here in the fall.” The red and yellow leaves coloring the Metasequoia path looked like a picture. Just taking a few photos at the iconic Metasequoia path on Nami Island was a healing experience. The weather was cool, and the air was fresh, making simply walking around feel soothing.

A Special Marshmallow Campfire Experience
Small campfires were set up around the island, and I had heard that you could roast marshmallows there, so we came prepared! You can also buy marshmallows at the nearby store, but we brought a few from Daiso. The kids had a blast roasting and eating marshmallows, and the sweet taste of a lightly toasted marshmallow was just delightful… 😋 It was a time filled with laughter and memories for the whole family.

Ways to Enter Nami Island – Zipline vs. Ferry
At first, we debated how to enter Nami Island – by ferry or by trying the unique experience of the zipline? We ultimately chose the ferry, but we’re planning to try the zipline next time. If you choose the zipline, it comes with a package that includes the entrance fee, so I highly recommend it for those who want a bit of thrill.

Overnight Stay at Jeonggwanru on Nami Island
After spending a full day exploring Nami Island, we stayed overnight at Jeonggwanru. This traditional ondol room matched the island’s ambiance perfectly, and even the kids loved it. The warm floor and clean air allowed us to sleep soundly. The room was cozy, and the view outside the window was beautiful, giving it even more charm in the fall season.

One thing to note is that although the room was clean overall, it had a slightly aged feel to it. Since it’s located near the water, it has a somewhat old-fashioned vibe, but it actually blended well with the island’s natural surroundings, adding a unique charm.

Travel Tips
Marshmallow Preparation: Roasting marshmallows over the campfire on Nami Island is a must! You can purchase them at the store, but bringing your own is even better.
Zipline Package Tickets: You can purchase the zipline package at a discount on sites like Trip.com. It’s reasonably priced at 48,900 KRW for adults.
Breakfast Pass: Although breakfast wasn’t provided, there were plenty of places to eat on the island, so it wasn’t much of an inconvenience. If you prefer to have breakfast, it’s worth checking the nearby restaurants around Jeonggwanru.
